New Zealand Sign Language Expo
The New Zealand Sign Language Act Celebration was held in Wellington on 4th August 2007. The Expo and Ball was a success with many people in attendance -- all reflecting and recognising the work that went into making our language official. NZSLTA was one of the several organisations making their presence felt at the Expo. There were a few guest speakers from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Social Development and Office of Disability Issues. On the night, there was a ball with approximately 180 people -- a wonderful event overall. We certainly hope it won't be the last celebration, and look forward to another being organised in the near future!
